Obama And Democrat's Lies On Drilling

The "Federal subsidies of oil companies" is a convenient Democrat lie. Name one "subsidy" that an oil company gets that no other company gets - no other mining company, no other manufacturing company. In fact, the oil industry in some areas gets smaller tax deductions than similar companies in other industries. Most other mining or manufacturing companies do not get the extreme amounts of tax added to their product. Government is directly responsible for about 45 cents per gallon in the price of gasoline in direct taxes. I would guess another $1.5 to $2 in indirect taxes.

Gas production has decreased on lands controlled by the government. Government does not have the control of private lands, so production has increased there. There were people screaming about prices under George Bush when they were high. You can find quotes from Barack Obama during that time. Obama lies and attempts to take credit for oil production he had nothing to do with. He has tried to stop new production.

If producing more oil will not help the price, why do we have people under both the Bush administration and the Obama administration going to the Saudi's and asking they increase output? If an increase will not do anything, why bother? And if an increase has no effect, logically a decrease should have no effect...

Drilling permits in the Gulf have been approved at 1/3 the rate they were under previous Presidents, so the fact that a few have been approved is only significant if you are surprised Obama is allowing any at all.

In the 70's Democrats stated the same thing they are currently stating, "even if you drilled now it will be 10 years before it would come on line"; "the president has NO affect on gas prices"; "it is a worldwide commodity".

It doesn't take 10 years to come on line, maybe five. you cannot increase the oil supply without drilling. if in five years you will need more oil, you need to drill now. We learned nothing from the 70's, 80's, 90's nor the 00's. You can NEVER have enough money; you can never be too good looking; your health can never be too good; and you can never have too much oil.

Capitalism Best Model NOT Socialism

There is a disease where we need more government to protect us from ourselves - called Socialism. Maybe liberal Democrats need the government to force you to live only the way government approves, but conservatives believe in the pursuit of happiness of free choice.

Indeed there are consequences for freedom and freedom of choice, just compare the US with Cuba.

If you are concerned about the cost upon taxpayers, then you fail to realize the faults of your own thinking needing more big government and the nanny state. It is the failures of big government programs that has ushered our near $16T debt.

Poor choices in life supported by government promote more poor choices, while cutting out such government programs forces more self-reliance and better decision-making. Compare data since the new dependency programs brought about since LBJ’s New Deal in the 1960s. The cost of Healthcare has risen manifold since government intervention, and Obamacare is causing even more major increases.

Of course we blame big business for rising cost of healthcare and not the usual failed economic policies of government intervention into the private sector and its blowback.

Therefore, if an individual is on their own deathbed at the age of 40 for making bad decisions, it is the duty of his friends and family to help and not the taxpayers. Of course you are free to contribute to any such causes to help such people, but it’s tyrannical to force taxpayers by the threat of imprisonment to pay for someone else's healthcare against their will because they made poor decisions. That is the price of freedom and liberty.

Capitalism is the best model. Liberals want " controls" because capitalism picks winners and losers. These people are always the people among us that want government handouts and refuse to work. This is why liberals hate capitalism.

YouTube: Asks Obama About "Jetting Around" on Vacation and Intimidating the Supreme Court

Anchor Larry Conners, last night in St. Louis, KMOV-TV CBS News interviewed Barack Obama in a random act of journalism. Conners hammered for "jetting around, [taking] different vacations and so forth, sometimes ... under the color of state business." The interviewer, Larry Conners, suggested even that folks "get frustrated, even angered" seeing the president take these trips, and told Obama that these Americans think he's "out of touch, that [Obama doesn't] really know what they're experiencing right now."

Larry Conners: "The economy is a big issue and concern for folks. I mean, the unemployment, trying to make ends meet, gas prices, food prices going up. Some of our viewers are complaining, they get frustrated, even angered, when they see the first family jetting around, different vacations and so forth, sometimes maybe they think under color of state business and that you're out of touch, that you don't really know what they're experiencing right now."

Barack Obama: "Well, I don't know how many viewers you're talking about that say that."

Conners: "We do hear from some."

Obama: "I hear from all kinds of viewers about everything."

Conners: "I’m sure you do."

Obama: "But the fact of the matter is, I think if you look at my track record, I’m raising a family here. When we travel, we got to travel through Secret Service, and Air Force One, that's not my choice. I think most folks understand how hard I work and how hard this administration is working on behalf of the American people."

Where is the MSM. Why aren't they asking tough questions? Why don't they report Obama's lies and what he is doing to America?

Call For Government to Report the Real Unemployment Number

The new unemployment figures were released last Friday. When the unemployment figures first came out the reaction from the Obama robots was exactly what you would expect from a group of government-dependent ignoramuses who know nothing about economics. To be a Barack Obama supporter you need to either be a mindless moron, depend on mindless morons for your power, or make money off of mindless morons. There are plenty of all three to go around.

How many new jobs did our economy create in March? The economists were suggesting the figure would be 230,000 jobs. Our economy actually created just 121,000 jobs in March. just how did the unemployment rate drop to 8.2% from 8.3%. If you are an Obama robot, this doesn’t faze you … you take the drop in the unemployment rate and waive it around in the faces of your conservative friends: see, isn’t Obama doing, like, an awesome job?

What the Obama robots fail to understand is that the reason the unemployment rate went down is because a record number of people just said, "the hell with it!" and gave up looking for a job. They dropped out of the labor force. Unemployment, you see, is a measure of the percentage of people in the workforce who don’t have a job. If the number of people actually in the workforce drops, … especially among those in the workforce but without jobs … then the unemployment figure is going to go down.

The number of Americans not in the labor force has now hit a record high of 87,897,000. That’s Obama’s legacy – a nation of people who have given up, many of whom have turned to the government as their source of survival. Now think about this, Obama supporters. Our population is growing but the number of people in the workforce is shrinking. Is there any way this is a sign of a successful presidency? If the same number of Americans were seeking work today as they were in 2007 before the recession, our unemployment rate would be upwards of 10%.

Our economy has to create 262,000 jobs every month for the remainder of Obama's first, and his second term, if he is re-elected.

By the way, there is a push to change how the government calculates these unemployment rates, in order to reflect those who have given up looking for work. Rep. Duncan Hunter, a Republican from California, has a bill called the "REAL Unemployment Calculation Act." The bill requires the federal government to cite the U-5 unemployment rate, which measures "total unemployed, plus discouraged workers, plus all other persons marginally attached to the labor force, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force." If you counted discouraged workers in the current unemployment figures, Obama would be looking at an unemployment rate of 9.6%, rather than 8.2%.

When George W. Bush left office, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid were in firm control of Congress and had been so for two years. Barack Obama had taken power and began to "fundamentally transform" the Country.. Unemployment has changed from the 'terrible" Bush years of 5% and less (pre-2006 election) to an amazing (official) 8.2%, and actual close to 16%.

Representative Duncan D. Hunter (R-CA) has a bill called the "REAL Unemployment Calculation Act." He intends to press GOP leaders to move his bill to include the number of individuals who gave up looking for work in the percentage of jobless claims. Should the government measure unemployment with Hunter's figure, the unemployment rate would be" anywhere from 9.8% to 10.2%. If you would count the people who are not working, who've given up working -- those people are not counted now. By the time you take the labor force participation rate into this and the number of jobs that they say just don't exist anymore.

Democrats Boycott Over Voter ID To Vote

Representative James Clyburn (D-SC), is leading an effort to stop voter ID requirements. It seems that Coke and Wal-Mart support an organization that is pushing for ID laws and he wants. Clyburn is calling for a boycott of the companies, and the latest news is that Coke has caved by pulling support from the targeted group just five hours after it was called. Should we find out where Clyburn does his banking, claim to be James Clyburn, and when the teller asks for identification explain to him that if we don’t need an ID to vote we shouldn’t need an ID to bank.

The paternal state not only feeds its children, but nurtures, educates, comforts, and disciplines them, providing all they need for their security. This appears to be a mildly insulting way to treat adults, but it is really a great crime because it transforms the state from being a gift of God, given to protect us against violence, into an idol. . . . The paternalism of the state is that of the bad parent who wants his children dependent on him forever. That is an evil impulse. The good parent prepares his children for independence, trains them to make responsible decisions, knows that he harms them by not helping them to break loose. The paternal state thrives on dependency. When the dependents free themselves, it loses power. It is, therefore, parasitic on the very persons whom it turns into parasites.

Democrats like Clyburn are political paternalists. They believe blacks are children that need to be coddled and made excuses for. In time, blacks begin to believe that they can’t do anything until the "Daddy State" steps in to help them. Booker T. Washington (1856–1915) had their kind in mind more than a century ago:

"I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."

Democrats need dependent voters; it’s the only way they can stay in power. The state can only be a bad imitation of a father and for 50+ years has shown does a horrible job. The Democrats also need dead people to vote to win.

Silence is a better tactic than admission of failure. The current charade is to canonize the president for his killing of Osama Bin laden.

Listening to Joe Biden and Hollywood scripts, you would think the president flew into Pakistan alone and killed the evil Bin laden. This accomplishment remains the Obama's only foreign policy success.

He claimed that the Bush policies were too harsh and that people around the world hated America. Now, no one cares enough to hate us anymore; we are now laughed at and considered weak and irrelevant.

Russia demanded we dismantle missiles in Eastern Europe, and we complied.

Pakistan shelters Taliban and Osama, and we give them more aid.

Egypt elects Islamic extremists to parliament and arrests our citizens, and we send them a billion dollars.

Syria kills their citizens, and we remain silent.

China manipulates its currency, and we borrow more money.

The Saudis discriminate against women and Christians, and we buy more oil.

Iran builds nuclear weapons, and we wish to talk.

North Korea dupes us into providing food for their elite.

Israel wants to defend itself and we say wait.

Perhaps another Nobel Peace prize awaits the president?

We have never had a president as bad as Obama. He is deliberately destroying our economy, yet the MSM keeps praising him. He has NO leadership abilities.

Obama's Obamacare Ploy Backfires

Barack Obama’s attack on the Supreme Court–in which he said overturning his health-care law would amount to an "unprecedented, extraordinary step"–is not going over well in certain conservative judicial quarters.

On Tuesday, a three-judge panel in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ordered the Justice Department to explain whether courts indeed have the right to strike down a federal law. It’s been well-established since the 1803 case of Marbury v. Madison that they do, and the Justice Department is expected to say as much in its response. The answer is due by Thursday."

The order from the 5th Circuit for the Justice Department to clarify its position on judicial authority came during a separate challenge to Obamacare brought by physician-owned hospitals.

As a Justice Department lawyer began arguing the government’s case, Appeals Judge Jerry Smith interrupted the presentation to ask if the 5th Circuit Court had the legal authority to strike down a law it finds to be unconstitutional. CBS News reports that when the government lawyer answered affirmatively, the judge stated that it was not clear to "many of us" that the president agrees.

The three-judge panel then gave the Justice Department until noon Thursday to provide a three-page letter clarifying whether it believes courts have the authority to pass judgment on the constitutionality of laws.

"Clearly, Jerry Smith was upset by the president’s remarks and he has every right to demand clarification," judicial expert Curt Levey of the Committee for Justice told Newsmax. "Obviously, he’s making a point as well as requesting clarification.

"But the president left himself open to that," Levey added. "Of course the president doesn’t really believe the Supreme Court can’t strike down unconstitutional laws. But if the president’s going to say things like that to demagogue, then he is responsible for them."

"For the president to imply that the only explanation for a constitutional conclusion contrary to his own would be out-of-control conservative justices does the court a disservice," wrote Washington Post correspondent Ruth Marcus, who has been a staunch defender of the president’s policies.

The Wall Street Journal, meanwhile, published a pointed editorial taking the president to task.

"Mr. Obama's remarks suggest he is joining others on the left in warning the justices that they will pay a political price if they dare to overturn even part of the law," it stated. "As he runs for re-election, Mr. Obama's inner community organizer seems to be winning out over the law professor."

It's is time to call Obama out on his lies, distortions, and threats.

Bill Ayers co-founder of the radical, Vietnam-era Weather Underground was videotaped chatting up what was identified as an Occupy Union Square group this past week in New York City. In a pep talk to an Occupy Wall Street gaggle, he said he wakes up every morning thinking about how he's going to end capitalism -- though he acknowledged he goes to bed "every night disappointed."

He said: "I get up every morning thinking, today I'm gonna make a difference. Today I'm gonna end capitalism. Today I'm gonna make a revolution. I go to bed every night disappointed, but I'm back again tomorrow. That's the only way you can do it."

Ayers' past ties to Barack Obama stirred trouble for the Democratic candidate when he was running in 2008. The two worked together on a charitable board starting in the mid-1990s, and Ayers hosted the first campaign event for Obama when he first ran for the Illinois Senate.

Obama, though, distanced himself from Ayers. And Ayers himself wrote in late 2008 that the two were not close. Obama though never heard what Reverend Wright said in his sermons either.

Illegal's Get $350,000 Of Our Tax Dollars

A group of illegal aliens claimed the government violated their constitutional rights when federal agents raided a "Latino" neighborhood in New Haven, Conn., in 2007. Their reward for refusing to obey American laws is the largest settlement ever in a case involving an immigration raid.

The federal government will pay $350,000 to a group of illegal immigrants and permit them to stay in the country pursuant to a settlement reached in a lawsuit they filed after they were arrested.

The illegal's claimed the government violated their constitutional rights when federal agents raided a "Latino" neighborhood in New Haven, CT in 2007. Their reward for refusing to obey American laws is the largest settlement ever in a case involving an immigration raid.

After the arrests, the leftist legal team of lawyers and law students from Yale Law School’s Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic immediately filed a retaliatory lawsuit against the federal government.

The leftist legal team is celebrating their success in frustrating the enforcement of immigration law, but the settlement is no surprise given the Obama administration’s decision in August to consider amnesty for 300,000 illegal's awaiting deportation.

According to the Yale Daily News, the non-citizens claimed ICE violated their rights under the Constitution. "In a 64-page complaint, three Yale Law School faculty members and four law students representing the immigrants allege that local, state and federal ICE officials violated the Fourth, Fifth and 10th Amendments by planning and executing the raids," the newspaper reported at the time.

The case began when agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement swept into the Fair Haven section of New Haven, which is predominantly "Latino," news reports say. The agents arrested between 29 and 32 illegal's, according to various accounts, on June 6, 2007, two days after New Haven approved its Elm City Resident Card. Any resident may obtain the card, which is used to help those without ID open bank accounts and conduct other business. Supposedly, they also help protect illegal's from robbery and murder because they are afraid to cooperate with police for fear of deportation. For practical purposes, the card declares — with no federal authority — that illegal aliens are legal residents of the United States. The card cemented New Haven’s status as a sanctuary city for illegal's.

Do illegal aliens have more rights than American taxpayers? Go to their home country of Mexico and you go to jail for entering illegally. Now the courts are saying we have to pay illegal's.

New Rules On Carbon Dioxide Emissions

The Obamacare hearings in the Supreme Court have all of America's attention. The administration of Barack Obama though has proposed the first rules to cut carbon dioxide emissions from new power plants. The EPA’s proposal would effectively stop the building of most new coal-fired plants. Eventually it will result in the closing of existing plants.

Obama in 2008 stated that his goal was to "bankrupt" the coal industry by imposing cap and trade regulations: "If somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."

The global warming crowd has flatly admitted that they are going to change their message. Instead of focus on climate change or the earth warming, they want to scare people into supporting "green" policies by focusing on children and safety. That’s exactly what we’ve seen on this issue of coal plants. Vickie Patton, the general counsel for the Environmental Defense Fund says, "The bottom line for our country is that cleaner power will cut harmful carbon dioxide pollution, protect our children and help secure a safe prosperous future." The children's safety is the angle these warmers will take, since they failed so miserably on the global warming message.

I don't think this is about just stopping coal plants. I think this is about stopping any sort of conveniences (and, oddly, progression) and that America must be punished.

If electric cars magically caught on tomorrow I'd be willing to bet that the progressives would be protesting them and all of the damage that their batteries do to the environment and the 'unseen pollution' at all of the new power plants that'd be needed to power them.

The progressives are really just anti-anything that works.

They're very pro anything that doesn't work. Their reasoning is that we just haven't thrown enough money at whatever they are for. It doesn't matter if you've thrown trillions at it, it's just not quite enough to achieve their goals.

Is the obvious solution to kill the EPA rather than the coal plants?
