Saving America Part 10

America will collapse under the growing deficit spending.  The economy cannot sustain the runaway spending that is happening now.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in his opening remarks on the Senate floor on the 51st day of Obama’s presidency said it best.
“in just 51 days, Congress has voted to spend about $1.2 trillion between the Stimulus and the Omnibus.  To put that in perspective, that’s about $24 billion a day, or about $1 billion an hour—most of it borrowed.  There simply is no question: government spending has spun out of control.”

The deficit spending is still growing.  Projections show the Obama administration by the end of the fiscal year will have grown the deficit by approximately $2 trillion.  We’re now looking at government spending eating up 45% of GNP and that’s before the healthcare bill and others that this runaway Congress is looking at.  That is the largest percentage in our history with the exception of 43-45 during the war.

That is 45¢ of every dollar earned in America going to the government.  At the current rate within two years the national debt will soar to 100% of GNP.

$1 trillion is $3271 for every man, woman, and child in America.  By the end of this fiscal year the Obama Administration will put every man, woman, and child in debt in the amount of $6542.  This debt has done nothing to stimulate the economy, but it is destroying the economy.

Our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will be paying for this ridiculous spending.  That is if it doesn’t destroy the country first.

You and I have to live within our means, we cannot spend more than we earn month after month and year after year.  Neither can the Federal government.
Government spending must be brought under control.  The government can’t be everything to everyone.  It’s time for the government to do as you and I do.  Is time to shrink the Federal government and stop the runaway deficits.

It will be hard.  The government has built a huge class of Americans who pay no taxes, who don’t work and who are supported by every hardworking American’s tax dollars.  The hard working Americans can’t keep supporting those who won’t work.
America we need to start working today toward a balanced budget eliminating the national debt.  It can’t wait this needs to start NOW!

The only exceptions can be in time of war or in a huge national disaster.  Except for those two conditions the Federal government has to live within its means. 

Thomas Jefferson thought new government debt was morally unacceptable and bad policy.  Jefferson said, “The principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.” Jefferson went on to say that politicians should consider themselves “unauthorized to settle posterity with our debts, and morally bound to pay them ourselves…”

America we can’t settle future generations with debt because of the follies of today.  Tell your Representatives and Senators cut the deficit and balance the budget today.
