You Work For Us! Protestors Cry Out On Capitol Hill
They came from all parts of the country to make a "house call" on their elected officials to be heard loud and clear NO to Obamacare!
No doubt she stayed out of sight today on Capitol Hill but all Nancy Pelosi needed to do was look out her window to see the thousands that descended upon the Capitol.
As a crowd of protesters shouted "kill the bill," House Republicans on Thursday rallied opposition against the Democrats' health care legislation, decrying the bill on the steps of Congress in a last-ditch bid to derail or at least delay the legislation heading toward a possible vote Saturday.

The GOP labeled this an emergency "House Call." There is a possibility that a vote on the 1990 page health care bill might come as early as Saturday. The event drew the conservative "tea party" activists but unlike past rallies was officially sanctioned by House Republicans.
Republicans asked those who were attending to track down their elected representatives in Congress and put pressure on them to think twice about voting for the more than $1 trillion health care overhaul pushed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
"They're going to listen," said Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who originally called for the rally. "The biggest voice in the United States is your voice."
They are looking to reprise the kind of grassroots resistance that boiled up during the August recess at town hall meetings across the country. That resistance seemed to temper Democrats' ambitions for health care reform and just about dash any hope for passing a government-run insurance plan as part of the package but just a few months later, both the House and Senate have included so-called public options in their bills.
Bachmann said before the rally that the "lessons" of the town halls have been lost.
"Republicans are in the minority, but a minority in Congress plus the American people equals the majority," Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., told Fox News Thursday.
Conservative actors Jon Voight and Jon Ratzenberger stirred up the crowd in the early afternoon. Ratzenberger warned about "socialism" creeping in, as Voight decried the "radical Chicago tactics" of the Obama administration. Meanwhile, nine protesters reportedly were arrested in a Senate office building.
Republicans said they wanted to kill the bill with Thursday's rally. But it's unclear how much of an impact the "House Call" can have so late in the process. Pelosi needs to unify Democrats around the package but does not need Republican support given the Democratic majority in the House.
However, in a symbol of protest the 1990 page health care bill was torn up and left to litter the floor outside Speaker Pelosi's office with the message "Kill the Bill" start over!
Republicans formally unveiled their version of a health care reform bill Thursday. So many times we have heard the Democrats state that the GOP is just against any kind of health care for the American people. They have said if they were concerned they would have come up with a plan themselves. There has always been a GOP plan it just isn't a total giveaway like the Dems plan.
House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) confirmed in a letter tonight that the Republican health care plan will lower health care premiums by up to 10 percent and reduce the deficit by $68 billion over 10 years without imposing tax increases on families and small businesses:
“When it comes to reforming health care, controlling skyrocketing costs is the American peoples’ top priority. Now CBO has confirmed that the Republican plan will lower health care costs for American families, and that’s good news for everyone struggling in today’s economy. The choice now could not be clearer: Speaker Pelosi’s plan raises costs. Our plan lowers them.
“Not only does the GOP plan lower health care costs, but it also increases access to quality care – including for those with pre-existing conditions – at a price our country can afford. The cost of the Speaker’s bill, now at $1.3 trillion and counting, is a debt that will be paid for by our kids and our grandkids. The American people deserve a better solution, and Republicans’ smart, fiscally-responsible plans give them exactly what they want.”
